Sports Physical Therapy

Athletes are in a league of their own.

Rehabilitation for athletes must go far beyond basic strengthening or pain reduction. To truly keep athletes performing at their highest level, recovery requires a comprehensive, sport-specific motor control program that heals both current and past injuries while proactively preventing new ones.

Treat the Cause of the Cause

Our approach to sports rehab identifies and treats the root functional drivers behind your pain or injury, not just the symptoms. Through precise evaluation, we uncover underlying musculoskeletal imbalances, movement inefficiencies, and compensations that contribute to injury.

By correcting these foundational issues, we help you return stronger, more balanced, and far less prone to re-injury.

Common Conditions We Treat

  • Ankle Sprain

  • ACL Rehabilitation & Prevention

  • Shin Splints

  • Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow

  • Hamstring & Other Muscle Strains

  • Concussions

  • Rotator Cuff & Shoulder Injuries

  • Jumper’s Knee & Runner’s Knee

  • Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

  • Achilles Tendonitis

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Osgood-Schlatter Disease

  • Bursitis

Lymphatic Sculpting

A specialized, light-touch therapy designed to enhance the body’s natural detoxification and healing processes.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) uses gentle, rhythmic stimulation of the lymph nodes and vessels to significantly increase lymphatic flow. Through slow, intentional strokes that move the skin and connective tissue, this technique creates a subtle pumping effect that boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and accelerates recovery.

Lymphatic Sculpting rapidly reduces swelling, bruising, and discomfort while supporting tissue regeneration. It is an ideal therapy for both pre- and post-surgical care, especially following cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, skin tightening, and body contouring. By promoting whole-body detoxification, it minimizes fluid retention, edema, lump formation, and scarring, helping you achieve a smoother, more refined result with a quicker return to normal function.

When Should I Get a Lymphatic Sculpting Session?

Before and after cosmetic surgery to reduce swelling, support healing, and significantly speed up recovery. Before a photoshoot or event for a more sculpted, defined, and contoured appearance. To reduce puffiness particularly in the face, abdomen, and areas prone to fluid retention. When experiencing congestion to help relieve nasal and sinus blockage.

What We Offer

  • Ultrasound Cavitation — Enhances contouring and supports smoother post-surgical results.

  • Arnica Infusion — Targeted application to reduce bruising and inflammation.

  • Specialized Taping Techniques — Designed to accelerate bruise and swelling recovery.

  • Lump Reduction — Targeted manual work to smooth irregularities after cosmetic procedures.

  • Therapeutic Stretching — Improves circulation, mobility, and drainage.

  • Pain Reduction — Effective, drug-free relief that supports natural healing.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is a hands-on, highly skilled approach to physical rehabilitation that focuses on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving overall function. Rather than relying on machines or devices, our practitioners use precise hand techniques to mobilize soft tissues and joints, release tension, calm muscle spasms, and correct dysfunction contributing to pain—especially in the spine, hips, and shoulders.

By addressing restrictions at their source, manual therapy enhances movement quality, accelerates healing, and supports long-term physical performance.

Types of Manual Therapy

  • Soft Tissue Mobilization — Releases muscle tension, improves circulation, and restores mobility.

  • High-Velocity Low-Amplitude (HVLA) Thrust — Gentle, targeted adjustments to improve joint alignment and relieve restriction.

  • Joint Mobilizations — Graded oscillatory or sustained techniques used to restore joint mechanics and reduce pain.

  • Traction — Gentle decompression of the spine or joints to relieve pressure and improve movement.

  • PNF Stretching — Facilitated stretching techniques that enhance flexibility, motor control, and neuromuscular activation.

Graston Technique

The Graston Technique is an advanced form of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) that uses medical-grade stainless-steel tools to detect and treat areas of soft tissue restriction. By breaking down scar tissue and adhesions, increasing blood flow, and stimulating tissue regeneration, this method helps restore mobility, reduce pain, and enhance flexibility.

It is highly effective for both acute injuries and long-standing chronic conditions. Watch a video here.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient therapeutic technique that uses plastic or glass cups to create gentle suction on the skin and underlying tissues. This decompression effect helps reduce pain, increase blood flow, decrease inflammation, promote healing, and induce deep relaxation.

How Cupping Works

At Body Physical Therapy, we use air cupping, where a suction device removes air from the cup to create a gentle vacuum. This lifts the skin and underlying tissue, increasing circulation and reducing tension. Cups are typically placed on the back, abdomen, arms, or legs and left in place for several minutes; multiple cups may be used depending on the condition.

Cupping is believed to help by improving blood flow, calming inflammation, and encouraging the release of metabolic waste. Research shows it can be more effective than medication for relieving back and neck pain
